LIST OF MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS
One of the criteria for registration with the Maldives Medical and Dental Council is that the academic Qualification obtained is from one of the following medical
schools recognized by Maldives Medical and Dental Council.
Only the medical programme from the listed medical schools at the time of addition to the list is recognised and only the campus that was in existence at the time of
addition to the Schedule will be recognised.
For twinning programmes, doctors must have undergone the entire duration of their clinical training and final examinations in a medical school listed below, to be
considered for registration with the Maldives Medical and Dental Council.
Graduates who do not hold qualifications which are recognised by the MMDC, will not be eligible to apply for medical registration to practise in Maldives and
graduates from these listed recognised medical schools must also pass the national licensing examination in the country .
NOTE: The Maldives Medical and Dental Council may, within its discretion, withhold approval of any college of medicine in the approved list that:
1- Has had its accreditation withdrawn by the national accreditation or licensing authority.
2- Has had its authorization, certification, or licensure revoked or withdrawn by the national governmental supervisory agency.
3- Has been denied approval or has had its approval withdrawn by any state or national licensing authority based upon an evaluation of the college of medicine or
upon a finding of misconduct by the college or has engaged in fraudulent, criminal, or other practices which are inconsistent with quality medical education.
4- A college of medicine which is deemed by the Council to be a college which engages in practices which are inconsistent with quality medical education, will not be
an approved college of medicine for the purpose.
This list will be reviewed annually.
